More Knights earning their 3rd degree.

Steve Pfaff accompanied some of our fellow Knights to a 3rd degree exemplification at Holy Family Church in Marietta.  Deacon Jim McDermott, Benedetto DeNigros and David Gover were in attendance and have all made their 3rd degree, making this Spring a very successful year in terms of exemplification attendance by our newest Knights.

Mrs. BURGER WINS SOUP OFF....UM KNIGHTS HOST SIMPLE SUPPER AND STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Our council came together to help out the Parish by cooking up some soup for the last lead Stations of this Lenten season.  We had a great turn out and three soup making styles to choose from.  Following this light dinner, parishioners joined with Deacon Jose for Stations of the Cross.  It was great to see so many people come out on a day other than Sunday.  Enjoy the pics!

Third degree exemplification at Notre Dame Academy in Duluth

Members of our council attended a Third Degree Exemplification on Saturday 2/23 in Duluth at Notre Dame Academy.  In attendance were (in order from left as they appear in the photo): Steve Pfaff, Steve Burger and Brad Burchfield.  Joe Swayne, membership director, also attended as an observer.

Although I can't tell you what what happened there, I can tell you that this normally stoic bunch of guys was so moved that they all wept into the milk and cookies that were served for lunch.

If you are a member in the second degree, please plan to attend next one of these events (April 5 in Marietta!!!).  It's good for you and the order.

Pancake Breakfast and Blood Drive

We had a good turn out and a great time during our Blood drive/Pancake breakfast this Sunday February 17th.    At last count, Life South's staff had told us we collected 20 units of blood.  In addition, we had several inquiries about membership and great deal of fellowship with our Parish community.

Thanks to all of the Knights who turned out to buy the food, make the pancakes, coffee, sausages, eggs and juice, set up tables and clean up after all was finished.   There is no small effort to make an event like this happen.  The men of our council make it look easy as they tackle the task at hand.

Rumor has it that the Blood Drive director has great plans for the next blood drive including announcements weeks in advance of the blood drive (sweet!).  So keep looking for new and exciting happenings at our next blood drive.

Simple Supper and Stations of the Cross

We are hosting the simple supper for March 14th immediately before the clergy-lead stations of .the cross at 7:00 pm.  Please plan to attend.  Knights looking for more information about the nights activities, click here

During the Lenten season, Catholics are instructed to focus more closely on the events of the passion of Christ.   What better way then to spend a little time praying the stations of the cross with our Parish family.

Knights At Second Degree Exemplification

Members of our council met at Saint Catherine of Sienna for a Second Degree Exemplification.  In attendance were from left Fred Speeney, Brad Burchfield, Steve Pfaff, David Grover, Benny Denigris, Kevin Ebelhar, Joe Swayne (observer/membership director) and in the front row: Deacon James McDermott and Steve Burger.

We had a great time and finished the night with pizza.  Not bad for a weeknight:)
